Trunk or Treat @ Burdine tomorrow! Students may wear their Halloween costumes. Masks may only be worn during the Trunk or Treat -NOT during the school day. Any costume props that resemble weapons are not permitted at school.


JIS Families just a reminder this evening from 4-6 the Kentucky Center for School Safety will be conducting a safety class for parents from 4-6 in the JMHS Library. This session is for parents to learn ways to monitor and protect students using the internet, social media, and provide information on bullying.

Special thanks to some of our Student Voice Team for distributing Red Ribbon Week treat bags to their peers last week! They are great leaders and we appreciate how they always step up to set the example for others!



Grades 3-5 had a great time watching Wednesday Addams at the Forum in Hazard. Thank you Partners for Rural Impact for providing the cultural opportunity. And thanks to all families for their fundraising efforts they help fund all of our dining experiences on field trips!










Alex Beavers was yesterday's positive office referral! He is working so hard in the classroom! Way to to Alex!


Avery Graham was Wednesday's positive office referral. She stayed on task in RTI and when met with a challenge she found a math tool to help her out! Way to go Avery!

Cavalier Families, great job on the Pumpkin Book Characters! They were all truly amazing. Kayden Smith was voted the overall winner at Fall Family Night and won $10 to spend at the Book Fair next week! We had 55 pumpkins in total! All other participants will be awarded $5 to spend at the Book Fair.

Thankful Thursday brought an Apple Bar for our staff and Brain Freeze for our students at Burdine!






We had an amazing Fall Family Night! Crafts, reading, math make and takes, chili dinner, Pumpkin voting, and Family Cafe! Thanks to all who came out! If you didn't get your child's progress report it will go home today along with KSA scores for fourth and fifth graders. Student led conferences for grades 3-5 will continue at our November Family Night.
