Cavalier Families, great job on the Pumpkin Book Characters! They were all truly amazing. Kayden Smith was voted the overall winner at Fall Family Night and won $10 to spend at the Book Fair next week! We had 55 pumpkins in total! All other participants will be awarded $5 to spend at the Book Fair.

Thankful Thursday brought an Apple Bar for our staff and Brain Freeze for our students at Burdine!






We had an amazing Fall Family Night! Crafts, reading, math make and takes, chili dinner, Pumpkin voting, and Family Cafe! Thanks to all who came out! If you didn't get your child's progress report it will go home today along with KSA scores for fourth and fifth graders. Student led conferences for grades 3-5 will continue at our November Family Night.











Penny War for the Middle School proceeds will go toward the 8th Grade Trip!

This week Burdine students are taking the Kentucky Center for Safe Schools "Level Up" Pledge. Can't wait to show you more from our Safe Schools Week! Thanks to our Unite Coordinator, Gear Up CCN, and Librarian for teaching these important lessons during special classes.

We had a great time celebrating our staff today, who are "...all that and a bag of chips!" We have the best crew at JIS working hard to support, encourage and educate our future citizens! They deserve all good things for their selfless work, but today Subway, chips, cookies and sodas made them all smile!! Congratulations on those greatly improved KSA scores!!

This week is Safe Schools Week! And the entire month of October is National Bullying Prevention Month. At JIS we value safety and want to keep families informed on ways they can protect their children. Join us for a Safety Workshop with Lori Downs from the Kentucky Center for School Safety Oct. 29th 4:00-6:00 in the JMHS Library. This is for all JIS families preschool to twelfth grade.


The last day for Boo Grams is Thursday, Oct. 17th. The $1 option is a sucker, $3 is candy and small Halloween toy, and the $5 option is a stuffed animal, candy, and small Halloween toy.
