For displaying great behavior, character, and leadership, Jacksyn was chosen to lead the pledge at the JIS School Board Meeting. It was a proud moment for everyone. We are so proud of you, Jacksyn! ⭐

It’s Time! We received a lot of picture permission forms this week, so it’s time to start sharing our Positive Office Referrals! Each day a staff member is tasked with picking out a student that shows they are Caring, Always ready, Very responsible, and Shows respect. These are the things we expect of our CAVS each and everyday and we recite them in the Cavalier Code each morning. The student chosen helps Mrs. Adkins lead the Morning Message the following day at school.

On Wednesday, JMHS Varsity Golf traveled to Hazard for the All-A Classic. Here are some highlights, including a shot of Sophomore Sophie Wilder being interviewed by Hometown 24! GO CAVS!

Please read for the Dismissal Procedures at Burdine. Many students have taken home codes for Rooms, but some teachers still don't have classes in the app. We WILL have Rooms up and running as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and cooperation!
Middle school students will be participating in MAP testing this week. High school students are using Mastery Prep! These universal screening tests help us identify student needs for support and interventions, ensuring their academic success!
JIS staff participated in a Professional Development session in Social and Emotional Learning before school began. It was a great day and staff left with strategies to implement in their classroom. Check out these second graders from Mrs. Tackett's class putting one of the activities into action. They thoroughly enjoyed it and will have their full plates of postivie comments to use throughout the school year.
Attention Cavalier Families: If you want to stay connected and receive messages and updateds from your child's teacher, download the Jenkins app. Just go to the app store on your phone and find us. Inside the app you will find Rooms and will be asked for a code. If you are a returning parent you are still connected, if you are new to Jenkins your teacher will be sending a paper home with a code. The Rooms app syncs with Infinite Campus, so new students and new teachers are still syncing. If you see your child's teacher hasn't messaged or posted yet they will as soon as the sync is complete.
